What Nanyang Academics does
Nanyang Academics is a Singapore tuition agency, established in 2008, that matches students with home and online tutors of all ages. According to the website, tutors are screened for academic aptitude, soft skills, track record, teaching ability and commitment, and a team of coordinators follows up on requests. Families can shortlist tutors from the agency's database or ask the agency to search for them. The agency states it is commission free for students and has matched more than 8,000 students.

About
Home Tutor & Private Tuition Agency in Singapore
Choosing a school, tutor or training provider
A good course is measured by what students can do afterwards, not by the brochure. Ask for evidence of outcomes and try a sample lesson where you can.
What to check
- Accreditation or recognition of the qualification it leads to
- Class size and how much one-to-one time you get
- Teacher qualifications and experience in the subject
- Refund and cancellation terms before you pay
Questions to ask
- Can I sit in on a class or take a trial lesson?
- What did past students go on to do?
- What is included in the fee, and what costs extra?
