Renew Medical Marijuana Card, Medical Marijuana Certification Online.

What MedicalMarijuanaCardNY does

MedicalMarijuanaCardNY is an online service that connects patients with certified medical cannabis doctors in New York. Patients answer a few questions, consult with an MMJ physician, and receive a certification by email within 24 to 48 hours of approval. The service also handles renewals for existing patients. The site explains that since March 20, 2023, New York no longer requires a medical marijuana card and instead requires a certification from a registered healthcare provider, which patients use at licensed dispensaries. The company says its physicians are certified by the New York Department of Health.

Choosing a clinic or healthcare provider

Most people pick a provider by distance, then regret it when appointments are weeks out or a specialist is not on staff. A few minutes of checking first saves a wasted visit.

What to check

The practitioner is registered with the medical or health board where you live
They treat your specific condition, not just the general area
Opening hours and how quickly new patients are seen
Whether your insurance or health plan is accepted

Questions to ask

Who will I actually see, and what are their qualifications?
What does a first appointment cost if I pay myself?
How do I get results or follow-up questions answered?
